in a discussion on lobsters, A commenter said that they used the signal from others commenting that a story is AI slop as their (apparent) one and only reason to mark the article as spam. This "Everybody else is doing it" mentality is the exact lack of engaging and short-cut taking that the poster implicitly complains about. If one is going to say that LLM writing is bad because no human put any work into it, then putting no actual human work into determining if something is spam is just as bad. Why did you have to mark it if you are not going to look? You should have just moved along if you didn't want to think today or actually read the article and determined for yourself if marking it as spam(or whatever) was appropriate.
Also, in the same comments, someone was complaining that they don't like it when they read three quarters of an article or post and then realize it was machine-written. If you are a superior meat-bag then why did it take you most of the post? And if it is drivel with no value then that implies your reading comprehension is lacking and you are now just like the high-school kid who pretends he knew the whole time and just jumped at the jump-scares so as to avoid ruining the movie for others in the room.
You are the problem dear commentor. Quit being an asshole and actually think for yourself then act accordingly or accept that you aren't as superior as you claim to be.
